Designed to breathe new life into the model, the facelift appears to feature new front and rear bumpers, modified head-and taillights, and trapezoidal exhaust tips. Inside, we can expect minor changes such as an updated iDrive system and a larger LCD display.
Under the hood, BMW is expected to replace the 4.8-liter V8 (350 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque) with the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 (400 hp and 450 l-ft of torque) from the 7-Series. The company may also replace the naturally aspirated 3.0-liter I6 (with 260 hp and 225 lb-ft of torque) with the twin-turbo 3.0-liter I6 (N54) or the new twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter I6 (N55) from the 5-Series GT.
